Sachin Tendulkar’s Mumbai Indians suffer an embarrassing loss to Anil Kumble ‘s Bangalore RC

May 4, 2009

mumbai indians lose to bangalore rcAnil Kumble is of course an incredibly inspired and fierce competitor and he choose the right team for the Bangalore Royal Challengers and got the batting and bowling order right in the T20 cricket match vs the Mumbai Indians. Kumble, the Bangalore Royal Challengers captain, made an inspired selection of Du Preez in the T20 cricket match against the Mumbai Indians and Du Preez responded well by claiming the key wickets of Sachin Tendulkar, Duminy and Ajinkya Rahane to have the Mumbai Indians on the ropes at 23/3

Mumbai Indians seem defeatist as soon as Sachin Tendulkar falls cheaply

The Mumbai Indians IPL T20 cricket team then went into their shell unnecessarily and were just 53/3 off 10 overs, an incredibly low score. Wonder why every time Sachin Tendulkar gets out, the Mumbai Indians IPL T20 cricket team seems to lose their spirit to win and becomes defeatist Among all the T20 cricket teams in the IPL, the Mumbai Indians seem totally dependent on their skipper, Sachin Tendulkar.

Jayasuriya, Abhishek Nayar and Dwayne Bravo helped the Mumbai Indians get to a score of 149 against the Bangalore Royal Challengers but the damage had already been done in the first ten overs

Jayasuriya stuck around defensively for too long, before changing gears for the Mumbai Indians and slammed a few sixes. Abhishek Nayar and Bravo also played reasonably well (but definitely not like a champion IPL team!) to help the Mumbai Indians to a score of 149 off 20 overs

Kallis and Uthappa of the Bangalore Royal Challengers simply destroyed the Mumbai Indians bowling,to hand the Mumbai Indians an embarrassing defeat

Well, in the end , the Mumbai Indians had no hope. A score of 149 runs on a placid wicket was easy pickings for Kallis and Uthappa who used the hapless Mumbai Indians bowling to get back to form. Kallis simply set the tone for the rest of the Bangalore Royal Challengers innings by launching a fierce assault on Lasith Malinga and the Mumbai Indians never recovered from that damage.

The Bangalore Royal Challengers seem inspired, the Mumbai Indians seemed insipid

The Mumbai Indians bowling seemed really insipid and lacking in ideas. Kallis was a batsman struggling with form, and he could have been attacked by Harbhajan Singh or Malinga of the Mumbai Indians, or Sachin Tendulkar could have tried bowling seam up rather than slow off spin.

Lets just hope that this Mumbai Indians Vs Bangalore Royal Challengers IPL T20 cricket match was just a bad nightmare and that the Mumbai Indians will soon see better times

Got something to say?
